Nick Drake - Sundance Channel 2/27/09

For you Nick Drake fans - It looks like the Sundance Channel - an American cable channel - will be showing a documentary about the late Nick Drake. It's called "A Skin Too Few". I know nothing about it - as far as I know this is new. My local newspaper refered to it as a premiere. It might be worth checking out. But as they say - Check your local listings for time and channel.

I don't get the Sundance Channel so let me know if this is worthwhile.

Wes, if you want to watch A Skin Too Few and the other documentary on Nick Drake, A Stranger Among Us, they are both available on Youtube. Both worth watching.

Happy Viewing

A very moving and fascinating film. There is no extant footage of Nick Drake, but the fimmaker did very well without. The main interviewee is Nick's sister. I enjoyed it very much.

Cheers,
Michael

Caitlin, thanks very much, no step is too far for the Catters... and Michael there is little or no audio of Nick Drake speaking rather that singing. Having said that I found the following item, again on youtube, I must admit to being a little creeped out when I first heard it.

At 25 Minutes to Five In The Morning

one of the few extant recordings of Nick's speaking voice. While he was back in Tanworth during the break between Aix and Cambridge, he went to a society party and returned home (to Far Leys) in the small hours. He was drunk and probably stoned.
