If you're in Cork or Kenmare or Castlegregory or I'm-not-sure-where perhaps you'll have an overweight, glasses-wearing American in your pub session. If that person orders Budweiser it'll be someone else, if he orders Bud Lite you can be CERTAIN it's not me. Kick them out into the rain. I'll be leaving The Auld Sod on 13th since I have to be back at w**k on the 16th. So unless you hear from me sooner I'm off to various places yet to be named in the green, in the green, my credit cards glitterin' in the sun. When I return I should have some Interesting News for the denizens of the Mudcat Cafe. (No, I'm not pregnant.) |

It might be a bit out of the town limits these days since the beach IN TOWN is pretty much covered by wharves, buildings, cops and such. |

When I was at school I handed in an English assignment and the teacher (who was excellent but deeply sarcastic), in an attempt to humiliate me when handing the papers back said "Jack, you must have kissed the Blarney Stone" and I replied "Actually sir, I have". Not sure I would now though - can you still do it with all the leaning back over the drop etc? Also, it's worth getting up early for a stroll along the Kenmare River at dawn. Aside from the rumours there's no Irish in my family as far as I know but arriving at that place for the first time felt like coming home. |

I can't believe you said that Visit, Killarney National forest ... love it and the burren Gosh I love that place, there are small flowers in the Burren that grow no were else on earth. My kids and I have wandered up and down it for years when I visted a lot ... The dolman .. still presses my buttons |

When I am in Ireland I feel like that is where I belong. I cherish the place, the people ... no matter how many times I never get tired of it.. also watch for the darn tour busses, they drive really really fast and the roads are terribly narrow. I have been shoved off the road more times than I can count. Don't drive to Dublin, take the train ... much more fun and a lot less hassel |

Donegal are worth a visit; as are Lough Guinness and Lough Harp in Connemara - great drinking! The Black Pudding bushes in Glendalough are impressive, also the Leprechaun Millinery & Cobblery at the same location. Check them out, and have a ball at the Cannibal Cafe in Cork. Seamus |
