21 Mar 09 - 09:39 PM (#2594298) Subject: RE: March Shanty Session @the Press Room (NH From: Charley Noble It certainly was nice to be in attendance again after missing last month, having strayed to Ethiopia. This time I was more careful in rounding the Kittery rotary! We didn't gather in a full crew until about 5:30 but by then we had at least 14 full-throated singers: Tom and Linn, Bob, Peadar, Chris, Mark, Mary, Tami, Peter and Joanne, Barbara, Barry, myself and one newcomer whose name I didn't catch. And there was another half dozen or so singing along at the side tables. Let's see I led Bound Away (Bill Adams), Bully in the Alley, Port of Dreams (CFS), Wreck of the Lady Washington (Nikki Perry), Lee Fore Brace (CFS), Leave Her Johney Leave Her (CFS) and my new song inspired by my revisit to Ethiopia, Evening Shadows Fall. It was great to see and hear the gang again. Cheerily, Charley Noble |

22 Mar 09 - 10:29 AM (#2594519) Subject: RE: March Shanty Session @the Press Room (NH From: Charley Noble Sinsull- No, the new person (new to me) who was leading songs was seated at the far corner of Linn's table. The cake was awesome! The deer was even more so, not to mention the atrocious puns. Cheerily, Charley Noble |
