Fabulous Askew Sisters-upcoming UK performances

This Saturday, 28th March, The Askew Sisters will be at Shammick Acoustic at The Castle Inn, Combe Martin.

In case you haven't come across them before, Emily and Hazel Askew are a young duo making waves on the acoustic scene with their energetic brand of English folk music. Using mainly fiddle and melodeon, they play and sing with an infectious enjoyment and love of the music, winning them fans wherever they go. From rhythmic, foot-stomping tunes to powerful interpretations of songs, their playing always guarantees to engage and inspire those who hear them. Well, that's what the publicity we've been sending out says about them anyway! And it isn't far wrong either.

If you're in the area, it really is worth coming along. Feel free to take a look at our website

The Sunray Folk Club welcomes the Askew Sisters. Not often seen in deepest Dorset, but it will be a wonderful evening - Thursday, 26 March.

And Rod Biggs from Ringwood Folk Club is visiting us too.

Had a great evening with these young girls. A good turn out, some good floor singers including Rod and Paula from Ringwood Folk Club, Derek (what more can be said) and Roger. Oh, and there was me!

A great night. Hope they come back!

Next is Flossie Malavialle and George Papavgeris ( an MC's opportunity to really get the names right!!!) Sat Apr 11th.

These sisters are two of the finest young performers on the scene. Fiddle and melodeon duets and lovely singing

Fantastic night with Emily and Hazel - and they charmed the socks off a number of people who'd never come across them before! Lovely lasses who love the tradition and do it justice.

Enjoy them at Twickenham tonight.

Yes, they are brilliant - and we (CMR) are having a lot of fun working with them on a show called "The Axford Five", about five Hampshire women from whom Gardiner collected about 80 songs... Come and see all five of us at Winchester Mayfest, Chippenham, Cecil Sharp House, Sidmouth, Whitby...
