I couldn't explore much because I was trading, but there was lots of hippy type clothing, handmade jewellery, tarot readings, stuff like that, and a battle, I remember. Not much music, buit I'm sure that could be remedied.......!! |

Jenny and Dave Wright moved from Kent up to Clun a few years ago and they have been visited by the Travelling Folk fraternity who have run a singaround in one of the pubs. They told me recently that Travelling Folk may not be coming this year AND the pub that we used to sing in is closed at the moment but there's no doubt in my mind that there'll be something on, music-wise, somewhere in the village. It's probably worth coming down from Cheshire just to see Shropshire Bedlam, the side led by John Kirkpatrick, and last year there was a fair bit of other music going on on the street as well. And you never know, Rapsquillion may put in an appearance if we're all hale and hearty! The fair in the castle grounds is, as Bron says, pretty good as well and there's always a great atmosphere, especially the moment that the Green Man confronts Frostie on the bridge. Give me a p-mail if you're thinking of coming down. |
