I think these are the words: THE SLURF SONG (Michael Hurley) Oh a little wishbone I make a wish for a potato - I make a wish For a potato Picking out the fish bones In my perch from Lake Champlain - All them perch All them bones Making up tortilla's So much fun when you got a bowl of beans - So much fun All them beans When we make spaghetti Everybody gathers round and they eat it by the pound - They all gather round They eat it by the pound We fill up our guts We turn it into shit and we get rid of it - Turn it into shit We get rid of it Oh I see the dishes over there They fill me with despair - Dishes over there Fill me with despair From YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1TEssqdyGw |

Thanks to Sedayne for reminding me of this brilliant LP; along with 'Trout Mask Replica' surely one of the most fascinating creative explorations of the hidden America in the late 20th century. I'm sure the Yahoo Rounders List have_moicy would have some kind soul willing to provide the correct lyrics. Be warned though that once you enter this site you may not emerge again until 2025 (or perhaps 1975). Matthew |
