13 Apr 09 - 10:30 PM (#2610655) Subject: RE: Baltimore Musician, seeking opinions! From: shiftybuddah Joe, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking is my music the Baltimore norm? If that is what you're asking, then no. The predominant music in Baltimore is rap, hip-hop, and big label rock. Same as most the country I imagine. As for folk music, its scarce. I'm the only person that I know of that plays acoustic guitar and harmonica. |
13 Apr 09 - 10:36 PM (#2610661) Subject: RE: Baltimore Musician, seeking opinions! From: Phil Cooper The phrase Joe F is referring to is from the song "These Dance Hall Girls" by Fraser and DeBolt. At the age of twenty, you probably would not be familiar with them, or the song. They are well worth looking up, however. If you do a thread search here, you will find them and the song as items for discussion. |

For anyone else that might be interested in hearing a recording of this song here is a link: Fraser, Debolt - Them Dance Hall Girls I have a feeling this place is going to be a treasure trove of info... Very nice. |
15 Apr 09 - 12:30 AM (#2611442) Subject: RE: Baltimore Musician, seeking opinions! From: Phil Cooper I have both their LP's from the '70's and they're awesome recordings. While you're checking out things, see Roy Harper's myspace page, I think you'll like the songs Another Day and Same Old Rock. |
