Looking for the lyrics to a song the chorus of which goes something like:

In and out, round we go,
heel to heel and toe to toe,
..........
with the leaves tumbling down-o

It has a verse that goes

When I was young I had no sense
.....
My ma told me in confidence, I'd never have a baby

Thanks in advance, Don

Well, the first 2 lines remind me of LEWIS BRIDAL SONG a.k.a. MAIRI'S WEDDING, but the rest is unfamiliar.

Kitty Alone?

"Promenade and dosey Do
Heel to heel
And toe to toe
Kitty alone, Kitty alone, Kitty alone at night..."

Not what you want but similar:

Intro to square dance (elementry school) - in a circle holding hands - caller

With a heel and a toe (right foot)
And a heel and a toe

And a slide, slide, slide (to the right)

With a heel and toe
And a heel and a toe (left foot)

And a slide, slide, slide (to the left)

(Face your partner)

Clap right - clap left
Clap both - clap knees

Swing your partner.
Grab another one please.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

Thanks, but none of them fit the bill.

The first verse starts something like:

I climbed up to the ... Hill
Where sport and stout were for my fill
Hoot, hoot, hoot...
...salute I ... war
... I did repair
Where parafin hung in the air
I left my heart on a ... there
And not in San Francisco
