Francy - I'll be performing at the Newport Irish Festival Labor Day weekend. If you're still around then, come up and say Hi.

Newport is about an hour away from the New England Folk Festival which is this weekend (April 24-26, 2009) in Mansfield, MA. Several mudcatters will be there.

Is Narragansett close enough?
Ever frequent Billy Goode's in Newport? They have a Thursday night open mike that is sometimes pretty good.

Hi moongoddess..I was raised in Jamestown and worked in Narragansett Beach during my high school summers...Do you live there? I will be back there in about two weeks for an extended period of time....Maybe we could get together and play some music.....Frank of Toledo

I would love to! I Play guitar and sing, and I have a friend Nancy who plays the fiddle and a friend Kathy who plays mandolin. Let me know when you get back to RI.

I'd be interested in learning in any recent research or opinions on whether the "old tower" in Newport is of Viking origin or not.
