05 Jul 99 - 02:31 PM (#92600) Subject: 'mudcat' Bill Sables on the radio. From: Rick Fielding Now since Bill gets embarrassed by threads with his name in them (he REALLY does) and so do I, when my name's up there, I'll use this to let you know that apart from Bill, who's going to sing a song about a Vicar and a choirboy (you've been warned!) and play cuts from the "Sables/Sam Pirt Album, We'll be honouring our Toronto friend, the late Tex Koenig. I pray the damned internet thing is working! The last 10 shows have been put on cassette tape in case there's some way of getting them out to anyone who wants to listen. That's computer stuff though, which I know nothing about, so I'm open for suggestions. The tapes are available though, I just need to know what to do with them. rick |

05 Jul 99 - 10:33 PM (#92707) Subject: RE: 'mudcat' Bill Sables on the radio. From: bbc We were trying desperately to listen, but the sound kept cutting in & out--very frustrating! We actually lost reception twice. The 2nd half of the show seemed clearer &, for some reason, Heather seemed clearer than Rick or Bill. Sigh. We would *love* a copy of tonight's show. Rick, I'll send you a personal message w/ some thoughts on sending the show tapes over the Internet. bbc (in NY) |

I'm sorry folks, this fucking internet stuff is driving me crazy. The show was taped as were the last 10. Maybe the tapes can be used some way. Thanks again for trying rick |

06 Jul 99 - 09:44 AM (#92839) Subject: RE: 'mudcat' Bill Sables on the radio. From: Mike Regenstreif The RealAudio signal was noisy but I could still actually hear everything. It was kinda like listening to a distant AM station on a transistor radio in the '60s. Mike Regenstreif |

06 Jul 99 - 10:05 AM (#92847) Subject: RE: 'mudcat' Bill Sables on the radio. From: Jeri My situation was pretty much the same as Mike's. I kept logging back onto the internet trying to get a better speed than 16.8 and finally got 28.8. If some people heard you fine, and others got funny noises, it's probably because of traffic and not anything the station could do anything about. I still enjoyed the show very much. |
