An early date for your diary:

No doubt Ms Rosenfield, the Festival Director, will oblige with details of artistes in the fullness of time.

We'll be taking our new five-piece electric line-up out on the Sunday. Hopefully we'll have our new live EP on sale as well! I believe we're also running an under-16s session somewhere on the Sunday morning.

Hi there. I did post something on this earlier this year and I've dutifully checked the forum before posting, but no results came up.

Here's some info. on this year's Middlewich Folk & Boat Festival (lifted straight from their official site).

I'm forwarding a link to this thread to Liz Rosenfield, so that she can fill in further details/answer any questions anyone might have.

I will make only one prediction, and that is that Mr Happy will be at The Boar's Head on at least one occasion during the weekend.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You've all waited very patiently, and now here's the line-up for MFAB2009 (all subject to contract and change of course). We're excited by it, and we're sure you will be too!

FRIDAY 19 JUNE: Mark Radcliffe and the Family Mahone, supported by Stan's Magic Foot.

SATURDAY 20 JUNE: Afternoon - Blue Murder (Norma & Mike Waterson, Martin Carthy, Coope, Boyes & Simpson + a special guest) supported by Ashley Hutchings' Rainbow Chasers, Gina Le Faux and Tom Doughty. Evening - Ade Edmondson & the Bad Shepherds, supported by Cave, Ella Edmondson Band and Vicki and Trefor Williams. Also the Ceilidh with All Blacked Up.

SUNDAY 21 JUNE: Afternoon - Thea Gilmore, supported by Rachel Harrington, Andrea Glass, and The Secret Band (line-up withheld because they're Secret!). Evening - Jim Moray, supported by Isambarde and Zoox.

Credit Crunch-Beating Weekend tickets (held at last year's prices) plus Saturday and Sunday day tickets are on sale now - either through the downloadable Booking Form or by PayPal. Individual concert tickets will not be on sale until May 1st, but as always you'll get a better deal buying day or weekend tickets. So go to Box Office, buy them as soon as you can, and we'll see you at the Festival.

Do be aware that since Tesco took over the town centre supermarket where the procession starts, thy've put a three hour limit on parking which isn't being lifted for the festival.

Very unfriendly.

The morris sides always used to park there ready for the procession, as it was also reasonably central for the dance venues.

It is their official stand - we've all had a warning message from Ray Archer who organises the morris sides. Did I say 'organises'? More like herding cats!

I'll buy my lunch somewhere else - I used to get butties from the Tesco Express at the Bullring. Okay, an unheard protest maybe, but it will make me feel better!

Very unfriendly indeed. Tesco want to build an even bigger supermarket in Middlewich, next to the existing one (the former Somerfields)and you might have thought they'd want to curry favour with Middlewich and its residents, rather than indulging in meanmindedness like this.

Boycotting Tescos isn't easy in this town, as they are all over the place like a rash.
However, Mr Happy's right - this is a time for fun, good music and enjoyment rather than going on about Tescos.
The Salt Town Poets hope to see everyone at the Boar's Head at one o'clock on Saturday afternoon, and Lost In The Mist welcome everyone to the Golden Lion at 3pm on Sunday.

Well I didn't see you in the Boars Head last night, but we enjoyed the session with the rest of your mob, after hearing some excellent singers in the White Horse. Then when everyone else had gone home we went into the Gloom Band's session for a bit. A great evening, we'll be back tomorrow for more (got a booking tonight)

I have been very busy as you can guess, what a fantastic festival it was - our new venue a resounding success, all bands happy and as far as I can tell all venues happy - and it seems to me the Gloom Band may even be just a little bit happy! A huge thank you to all of you who took part, both officially and unofficially for making this festival what it is. Sadly though good things must come to an end and I must spend more time with my family (they don't recognise me) my friends (if I have any left) and my husband, er I think his name is.............Ian, ah yes that's him the big bloke with a squeezebox. I have offered my resignation to the committee this week as I have one or two more ventures up my sleeve, one is our trip to Anglesey for our Bull Bay Festival on 30th 31st July 1st 2nd August. Contact me for details, and a few more festival organising oportunities and for my new career singing with both as guest singer with Dr Bob and the Wildboys and as me with the lovely band 'The Lizettes,' now here's a little treat for you; we hope you like it;

Let's see if I can make this clicky thing work!!

'The Lizettes' for your watching pleasure!!

Best Wishes to all you festival goers Liz Rosenfield Festival Director 2006-2009
