It doesn't work for me either.

Fortunately the "Google Custom Search" works pretty well.

If you want to search for, say, "Blackwaterside" on Mudcat:

On google search, type in blackwaterside site:mudcat.org

Our search function is more than a little tempermental. I notified Max that it's on the fritz. In the meantime, check the FAQ (click) for the wide variety of other search functions we have available. Shalini's idea is a good one. I think I'm going to have to add site-specific Google search instructions to the FAQ. I'm rather partial to the Filter, myself.

Without in any way denigrating the Mudcat, the forum search has been temperamental for as long as I can remember.

I've always found that the 'old adv forum search' on the Quicklinks dropdown works really well.

In my experience it has been more on than off, but I have only been here a short while. Wish it was not on the blink this week though. I am home from work and free to search. I cannot access Mudcat at work anymore. It has the Essex County Council stamp of disapproval.

I re-indexed the search today, so it is fixed, active and up to date. Enjoy.

whoo hoot! Glad it's back.   Having said that I extend thanks to Joe Offer and his advice to use the filter. I made out ok today.
