sing around nick, on the saturday afternoon, and just being there, seeing your smiling face and hearing your dulcet tones. It'll be us and Monkeys Fist so it will be a fair old chorus.

Have you got wind Mr Stallion? All this pumping stuff.

Or is it, like muffin the mule, some weird thing that you get up to in your spare time?

Hey all, people might not realize that this is a free, come-one-come all--all-welcome event for anyone who turns up.

Something for everyone in several separate rooms (and outdoors) in the pub--sing along, music session, performances in large and small spaces and maybe some dance outside, poetry somewhere sometime.

And barbecue outside. Beer, of course. --The only thing that might not be free or abundant is parking. York has park and rides and there are several city centre car parks, but not much parking at the pub itself.

Just recovering from Ryedale (and the sun burn).

...... and now looking forward to the great City of York Folk Weekend. Can only make Sunday unfortunately but at least we'll get to see The Stallion and his sheep.

Peregrina, you seem to be suggesting that the beer is free...... do you know something we don't?

Paul

oh, yeah, the beer's not free either, I should have punctuated that differently.

But I'll buy a pint for the first catter I meet who knows me and reminds me of this!

oh, and the food's not free either. An excuse to bump the thread.

The more the merrier, the marquee this year is bigger and will be at the bottom of the car park cos there is a smokers "bandwagon" where it used to be but it sounds like it will be a lot better, I think there will be a bar at the back for bottles and fizzy beer, promises to be hot and dry so cooling lager might even be palatable! We were in corking form at South Shields last week so I hope we can produce the same on Saturday and Sunday I have been sneezing today! (dirty rotten swine did I hear you say, hope not!)I am getting excited, that's a first, usually fretting over getting things right! See you all there

Made it, 5pm (ish) - and all was going well. Spotted some familiar faces, sang a couple of songs before I had to head home about 8pm. The weather was spectacular, the car park full of 'audience' and Morris Dancers. Fish and chips, cooked on the premises went down a treat and the singing and playing wasn't bad either! The young'uns were there too tho' I didn't hear them sing. Can't get everywhere.
David Swann did a great job MC ing, even introducing himself!!
Hope tomorrows' sets go as well.
Hazel.
