25 May 09 - 07:01 PM (#2640817) Subject: RE: City of York Folk W/E 30th - 31st May From: peregrina Hey all, people might not realize that this is a free, come-one-come all--all-welcome event for anyone who turns up. Something for everyone in several separate rooms (and outdoors) in the pub--sing along, music session, performances in large and small spaces and maybe some dance outside, poetry somewhere sometime. And barbecue outside. Beer, of course. --The only thing that might not be free or abundant is parking. York has park and rides and there are several city centre car parks, but not much parking at the pub itself. |

27 May 09 - 01:28 PM (#2642020) Subject: RE: City of York Folk W/E 30th - 31st May From: stallion The more the merrier, the marquee this year is bigger and will be at the bottom of the car park cos there is a smokers "bandwagon" where it used to be but it sounds like it will be a lot better, I think there will be a bar at the back for bottles and fizzy beer, promises to be hot and dry so cooling lager might even be palatable! We were in corking form at South Shields last week so I hope we can produce the same on Saturday and Sunday I have been sneezing today! (dirty rotten swine did I hear you say, hope not!)I am getting excited, that's a first, usually fretting over getting things right! See you all there |
