The gale on t peak last year was a nightmare for those who camped.My poor little tent took a buffeting through the night,but a number of us are returning this year for another weekend. I hope to get it all downloaded today. I thought that was some of the best unaccompanied singing I have ever heard and Sunday night's informal session was brilliant too. The Irish contingent - two of whom are from West London - were particularly stupendous. Finbarr Wall's song about the couple (a parody of a John Riley ballad) was especially efficacious. And the "band" on Sunday night was a bit special too. Jerry O'Reilly sang "The Green Linnet". That'll do me! It was nice to hook up with Jim Potter too. After about 40 years!! |

As Dave said this was a real feast of unaccompanied singing, and it was good to hear from some younger singers on Sunday - when they start as young as three you know the tradition is in safe hands! It would be great to have Diva and Surreysinger join another time - I think the Lucy Broadwood presentation would fit in well. Thanks to Mark for organising it, and for providing better weather! So it sounds as if that might still be subject to change.(I think he was hoping to finalise things within the week).
