Fishguard Folk Festival - May 22-25

The orgainisers have been most remiss in advertising this excellent little festival ;-)
It's being held this Bank Holiday weekend in and around the picturesque Pembrokeshire town of Fishguard. Being so far west, it's nearer Ireland than London, and so has a strong Irish flavour.
This year's festival has sessions, singarounds, dances and concerts galore, including appearances by Kevin Dempsey, NĂ©illidh and Fiachra Mulligan, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll, the legendary Sue Harris and many more.
Details can be found here. The song sessions in the fabulously unspoiled Ship Inn in Lower Town are worth the trip alone.

Sunday evening in the Ship Inn lower town, Mainbrace will be hosting an evening of songs of the sea.

Ah , The Ship in Lower Town.An excellent pint and gracious hosts.Add that to some good music and what more could man ask for?.Might make my way across and stay with an old shipmate who lives just off The Square.

Go there folks, and enjoy splendid singing by Mainbrace. Fine voices and repertoire, and a no-nonsense approach to performing that gives audiences huge value for their money. Don't miss 'em.

Myself and the Dame will be there again - uninterrupted by other gigs this year. Monday afternoon in the marquee is our main spot, but we'll be all over the sessions like a rash.
If you're going there from the east, take a detour via the village of Rosebush and have a pint in the remarkable Tafarn Sinc (Zinc Tavern).

Do you think we should have a Mudgather there? We seem to have a quorum.

How do you tune a quorum?

I'm still trying to work out how my weekend will run. Monday afternoon was looking like a possibility but all the votes have yet to be counted ...
