Rob is widely considered the most important concertina player of his generation. He is known for his work with Dr. Faustus, Tim van Eyken, The English Acoustic Collective, Emma Reid, & Nancy Kerr & James Fagan. He has been a popular tutor for Folkworks, Hands-On Music, the International Concertina Association & a great many more.

William Winter was a fiddle player who lived from 1774 to 1861 in the Quantock Hills in Somerset. He played in a church band and for country dances, and worked as a village shoemaker. His manuscript collection of over 400 tunes includes unusual tunes and interesting variants of familiar ones. The manuscript has recently been published by Halsway Manor, and copies will be available for sale on the day. (Purchase of the book is optional and copies of any music required for the workshops will be provided).

The workshops will be an opportunity to discover some of the tunes in the Winter MS. We will also discuss ways of getting tunes 'off the page', including phrasing, ornamentation and creative interpretation.
