OldDude, thank you so much. I think with our taste in music we are on the same page.
I enjoy your work so much.

I love the old story-songs, the hard-hitting ballads, the hard-times ditties, and it brings
up memories of traveling through the south with Guy Carawan and Jack Elliott in search of songs in 1954. I learned so much from Bess and Butch Hawes (of the Almanac Singers)
and from hangin' with Woody in Topanga Canyon. Of course, Pete Seeger.

I like the songs that tell the feelings without preaching, just the way things were.
I have great admiration for the contemporary songwriters who can do this. Jean Ritchie. Steve Earle, Tom Paxton and many whose names are not known but tell a great story.

If anyone likes my CD at all I am extremely grateful.

Frank

Art Thieme's CD carries on this wonderful story/song tradition.

Well Frank it is amazing, between you and Art and Jerry and Kendall I have so many great story telling songs .. I love the stories also ... your Drivin Steel, Kendall's Mrs. Ragoon, Arts Billy Venero ... just to name a few. They just have a certain feeling to them ... Harry Chapin would tell stories in his songs also like Taxi ...

How about Tennessee Stud .. I can't hear that song enough ... great stories ... don't hear that anymore, just diary music about the boyfriend who dumped the girl or vicey versey

nice to hear the old story songs
