I am searching for the sheet music to the song "Jeaninne, I dream of lilac time" It's an old song from 1930's or older. If anyone knows where I might find it on the internet, please let me know. Thanks Beth

Not folk but a great old song (Richard Tauber). If you have no other luck I could do a melody line for you, but that's gonna take some time. I'm off to a small festival this weekend.

John

Beth, this song was made popular by Australia's Gladys Moncrieff in the late 20's or 30's. I've asked a few old time sopranoes but no-one has the music. How seriously would you like the sheet music? Knowing the popularity of 'Our Glad' in Australia I would be surprised if it were not available in print, perhaps as part of a compilation of sheet music. Please let me know.

Regards
John

I have it listed (incorrectly) as Jeannie, I Dream Of Lilac Time (Gilbert-Shilkret) on John McCormack's Ireland My Ireland, Pro-Arte CD 476, 1990. (recorded in 1928) It should still be available.

It is in the Washington University Library at St. Louis, MO in the book, Nostalgia, v. 2 with Call No. M1630.18 N67 1987 v.2

A copy of the sheet music is for sale US $5.50 at this address http://www.amres.com/files/s1.htm

A kind librarian from the Queensland State Library (Gladys Moncrieff Memorial Unit) kindly sent me a copy of the score. If anyone would like a copy please let me know via this thread. Regards, John,

Sounds nice. Any reason why it shouldn't be posted here?
