BS: Crabby tabby - Your caption

Why tabby's feelin' crabby?

(That link shows pic w/o caption, but it sometimes takes 10 to 30 seconds for the pic to load - possibly longer on dial-up.)

Here's the same pic, with the LOLCat caption:

Hey, I caught it! You doesn't get the braggin' rights!

I'm gonna put my grumpy pants (or crabby pants, I guess) on and point out that the sea creature has ahold of kitty's leg and I sure hope the dude checked to make sure kitty was alright!

"He started it!"

I agree, Becca. That pinch looks like it hurts.

With you there Becka72, I don't like the picture. The cat's obviously scared and crying to get away. Nothing I hate more than animals being tormented in the name of 'funny'. Check the 'hyserical' YouTubes out there, which are thinly veiled animal abuse.
Otherwise I love silly cat picks.

It doesn't look to me like the crab has a grip on the cat's leg.

Cat to owner: I said I needed a CRAP - not a f*!$ing CRAB!"

I had to go back and look at the photo.

The crab is not touching the kitty.

The perspective shows the legs close to each
other, but the crab is closer to the camera, being held out almost arm's length and the guy is holding the kitty up against his chest, so they are not touching.

I think it is true that "no kitties were harmed in the taking of this picture".

Yeah, I do think you're right there I think Alice. The cat's just distressed.

Even so, I'm never a fan of anything where an animal is clearly unhappy or afraid, being offered up as entertainment. I'm sure it wasn't traumatised in this instance, of course. But it is far too generally acceptable, to either treat without due consideration, misuse or even downright abuse animals for casual entertainment. Thus, I'm alway's sensitive to the animals experience, in 'funny' images and videos. IMO they're engaging and entertaining in their own right, without being forced into situations that upset them, for our fun.

Otherwise, my apologies for going a little off topic here.

I think the cat looks more pissed than distressed. No doubt because he reeled in the giant crustacean and isn't getting to eat it or even play with it!
