From: Piers Plowman So, the other day I was playing through some songs with a friend and I had brought a couple of books with songs from operettas. My friend suggested we play the song "Komm in die Gondola" --- "Gondellied" ("Come Into the Gondola" --- "Gondellied) by Johann Strauss, Jr., which I had never played. It sounded very familiar and I associate it with circus trapeze acts. However, the only song I find when I look for trapeze songs is "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" is a completely different song. Is there another trapeze song, am I just confusing two (or three songs), or have I perhaps slipped into a parallel universe? |
