If you happen to be on the Island over the weekend of 10-12th July you could do a lot worse than come along to this:

Folk Station

A full weekend of Folk Clubs, Concerts, Ceilidh, song and music sessions, workshops, dancers and real ale!

All in the famous Havenstreet Steam Railway. Tickets include train trips on live steam!
Special reductions available on the Ferry too!

Full details of performers and tickets on the website.

Go on give it a try!

Andy

Sorry just remember how far the Island spreads. This is the U.K. (original?) version

Would love to come over, but unsure what we're up to that weekend. Sounds like fun though!

Andy: I am originally from the Isle of Wight but have lived in Oz for about 35 years now. Would love to come over for the festival but maybe next year when I visit my brothers and sister who still live there at Cowes. Looks like a great program and what a venue at Havenstreet!! Best of luck with it.

Well Andy, this looks like a fantastic weekend & that's an excellent deal that's been struck with the ferries! Can't get away this weekend I'm afraid, but if there's one next year we'd probably want to get involved. Have a Fab weekend, Enjoy!

Wish i could bring the trailer over but i fear it'd be lots of pennies. Good for you for doing this, best wishes.

Yes there are times, very few mind, when that bit of water is a pain. But it is what keeps the Island so special.

I wish we could make it but perhaps we can put it in the diary for next year

This sounds excellent, it's a long time since I visited the IOW. I can't manage this year now owing to family holiday but will definitely put it in the calender for next year. Good one Andy!!!
