And if you want to MAKE an image of Cosby out of Jello, why bother to waste the booze? Me? I'm kinda slow, and just don't 'get' the nuances of some artistic enterprises. |

14 Jul 09 - 11:41 AM (#2679989) Subject: RE: BS: Jell-O Shots Bill Cosby From: Desert Dancer And maybe I didn't either... "In 1974, comedian Bill Cosby became the company's pudding spokesperson, and continued to serve as the voice of Jell-O for almost thirty years. Over the course of his tenure as the mouthpiece for the company, he would hawk new products such as frozen Jell-O Pops (in both gelatin and pudding varieties); the new Sugar-Free Jell-O, which replaced D-Zerta in 1984 and was sweetened with NutraSweet; Jell-O Jigglers concentrated gummi snacks; and Sparkling Jell-O, a carbonated version of the dessert touted as the "Champagne of Jell-O." " (from Wikipedia, font of all useless info, followed closely by Mudcat Cafe, which serves as a useful index of the useless) I never heard of sparkling Jell-O... |

You mean a "Jell-O Shot" REALLY IS Jell-O and booze? DIS-FUCKIN'-GUSTING! PATOOEY! YUCK! I am ever so glad I quit drinking before whatever damned fool it was came along and dreamed up that abomination! Maybe Dan and Little Hawk can pool all their Dachshund shit, mix it up with cheap vodka, and market it as "Wiener Dog Turd Shots"! |

14 Jul 09 - 01:09 PM (#2680070) Subject: RE: BS: Jell-O Shots Bill Cosby From: SharonA "Red and green plus a touch of purple make mud" Sure, I remember Easter egg color theory. But in Jell-O color theory, do strawberry and lime plus a touch of grape make a grey-hued concoction? And if so, would it not show up in the picture as a much darker hue instead of that pasty pale grey? And what of the white shots? In Easter egg theory, white = uncolored shell. But uncolored gelatin is clear or nearly clear, not Elmer's-Glue White. The opacity of the white dots and the grey dots in the picture is what makes me think that something is amiss here. What I've been trying to say all this time, in a roundabout way, is that I don't believe the artist used real Jell-O shots. |

14 Jul 09 - 01:37 PM (#2680100) Subject: RE: BS: Jell-O Shots Bill Cosby From: SINSULL The white is Pina Colada. If you look at the second picture, you see he is arranging the face only on a white tablecloth. The completed rendering is not made of Jell-O. No grey or black. It is supposed to look like a Light Bright Board - remember those? |

14 Jul 09 - 01:54 PM (#2680118) Subject: RE: BS: Jell-O Shots Bill Cosby From: SINSULL There was a fifth rate lounge lizard singer named Lemongello. 15 Jul 09 - 01:16 PM (#2680866) Subject: RE: BS: Jell-O Shots Bill Cosby From: Jim Dixon I don't think Jell-O-shot art will ever replace Crop Art as a folk genre. It's known as "crop art" in Minnesota, and is exhibited at the State Fair. Elsewhere, it's known as seed art while the term "crop art" is often used to mean crop circles (especially the more elaborate designs they have evolved into) and corn mazes. |
