I was a fan of the New Riders back in the 70s, and recently found their original CD with Garcia playing pedal steel, and its still one of my favorite albums. In fact, I just played Glendale Train tonight at a bluegrass jam and we had a short discussion about who John and the NRPS were, little knowing he had departed this earth. I saw NRPS at a local venue about a year ago, Marmaduke wasn't with them because he'd been in bad health for some time. Take a last quiet look at the last lonely eagle he's soaring the length of the land you know that he never will land |
