Musical reincarnations

I was thinking in my next life I will come back as a Metis fiddle player. I have been hearing them on you tube..a great young girl called Sonia?? Serena? Starts with an S.

How come they are so great? It sounds like fiddling should sound to me. I think I am mostly oriented to French Canadian style of fiddle playing, mixed iwth eastern Canada. Irish often sounds too delicate to me..I like the foot stomping..literally.

Anyway, there is obviously a connection between French Canadian and Irish..I assumed it was just an ordinary one of travel and hearing stuff and changing it a bit. But I was reading some potato famine stuff and no I will not call it anything but that and they said there was a huge amount of intermarriage between the Irish famine immigrants and the French Canadians and a huge amount of adoption of orphans..who might have been too young to play the fiddle but who knows it all worked out. Has anyone else heard this? mg

I'm comfortable with the instruments I've learnt to play down the years - I wish I'd learnt to play concertina about twenty years earlier than I did though, so maybe in the unlikely event of my getting a next life, I'll address that.

Actually, though, what I'd really like to be in my next life in one of our lurchers. Regular exercise, regular feeding, zero responsibility, affection on demand, and pretty much limitless opportunities to sleep whenever you feel like it. As one of our lurchers you even still get to go to lots of folk festivals and music events ... playing the English concertina might, in that case, be a bit challenging though, as the dew claws just won't go through the thumb loops :)

A karmic coda is not in my after life plans.

Come Back?!?!? I'd be bloody livid.

Let me just be a note in the music of the spheres. I'd be happy with that.

I'd choose to let someone else make the decision on my possibly snappy comeback.I'd be in a can marked ReinCarnation Evaporated People and somebody with a proper motive or amount of curiosity could just add water and stir.

That said, the results would come out as someone who knows all the stuff I've accumulated in 60 years of living (Can The Library Of Digress with all my recordings and books be reincarnated too?), but could sing a wider range of it better and play a whole bunch of instruments. I only started actually singing late in life, so this way I could get a head start from an age when the memorization of lyrics came easier. I'd be content to better utilize what I know now better and start a bit earlier, is all.

I'd come out a bit more handsome, too, I suppose.....

Severn: I should warn you, handsomeness cuts across the genetic code for making quick puns and disables it in 97.1 per cent of cases studied (a select pool of individuals who reincarnated from a pun-making life, but could still be located).
