Re: Witty song about acronyms in the TV programme: 'An Audience With Bob Monkhouse'

Does anyone know where I can find out about a brilliant song - with lyrics based on acronyms (e.g. A.S.A.P. = As Soon As Possible)?

I heard it sung on an ITV programme (broadcast for the first time in, I think, the late 1990s/early 2000s). I believe Bob Monkhouse (or perhaps Des O'Connor - I have a bad memory re this!) sang on the programme. It was either called: "An Audience With . . . Des O'Connor" or ". . . Bob Monkhouse" - apologies, I remember the song not the singer!!

I would like to know the composer &/or lyricist, if anyone has recorded it, the correct title for the song, where to buy the sheet music, or even just where to find the lyrics for this witty song. It was a light-hearted 'mick-take' of how acronyms (such as BTW = By The Way, ASAP = As Soon As Possible, and more daft acronyms) have taken over our lives. Very clever lyrics.

I have not heard it before or since!

Any ideas anyone? I have of course Googled for it, but with no success.

Thanks!

No help at all, of course, but it could easily be either of them. Bob Monkhouse was a comic genius and wrote some dazzlingly clever stuff.
And Des O'Connor, though chiefly known for schmaltzy Max Bygravesy-type songs, also did some masterful comic ditties, such as 'I Can Pack A Suitcase' and many 'list' songs, such as the one about old time movie stars.
As I say, not a lot of help, but good luck in your researches.
