I'm heading down to Orlando, FL this Friday, and returning to NYC on Wednesday. Any good folkie stuff happening down there?

...personally the only reason I would go to Orlando in the middle of summer or any other time is to swim in Wekiva Springs north of town up towards Sanford...It feeds the Wekiva River...now that's a reason to go to Orlando!!! (good sunday 6-7 pm celtic radio show on 89.9fm) why are you going Matthew?... harpgirl

...if you truck over to Cape Canaveral...a short ride...you can see our own Paul Garfinckle at Grateful Day Cafe on Saturday from 6 to 9...but if you look for me in the moonlight along the Wekiva River you might have a much better time...harpy

...I like to stop at the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp on the St. John's River East of Orlando on 520 off 528 to Cape Canaveral to eat gator tail and turtle for lunch..I also recommend that...if you took an airboat ride on the St. John's River you would also get a thrill!! thrill, but not something a boy from NYC might want to do!

Abby Sale posted his e-mail address in a thread a while back, so I guess it's OK to post a link - Click to mail to Abby Sale. He's a walking encyclopedia of folk music information.

Well, my last name has been massacred in a variety of ways in my life time, but Harpgirl, you have now broken new ground ;-) It's Garfinkel -- I am often called Garfunkel and give the stock response "I'm better looking and have a better voice..."

That said, here's the bad news...The Grateful Day Cafe, at which I was to appear tomorrow nite, has, regretably closed its doors. Another fine venue and truely wonderful vegetarian restaurant bites the dust.

As an alternative I would suggest Koolbeanz Coffee House in Cocoa Beach. Sam Pacetti this Saturday. I'll be there next Saturday.
