What it says. Any regular clubs/sings/sessions in the Haverfordwest/Pembroke/Tenby end of the county?

I was in Tenby last Mon on the way home from Sidmouth to Co.Clare & saw quite a few venues with music but saw nothing immediately obvious as folk. Might be worth further investigation though, as I probably missed something!

My first time in the town and was suitably impressed, seemed very civilised. My landlord said it had pulled itself out of a bad image it had in the 80's. I'd like to know how they've managed it, could be a lesson there for many other towns.

Stayed there a couple of weeks ago and nothing doing. There is however an excellent independent music/record shop which is well worth a visit and would know of anything going on the locality. There is a Tenby folk festival which was cancelled this year, but will go ahead next year- more info on their Website. Pembroke Dock may be more hopeful- was a session at The Flying Boat, Queen Street Pembroke Dock on Fridays- contact pub for more info. There is also something in FIshguard, but I don't know much about this. Tenby is a great town anyway. Been going there for years. It's going up market though- which is why it's image might have improved. Amazing beaches. Good food, nice people.

This weekend in St Dogmaels there's a chance to catch up with Anonyma (that's me with Mary Mc Laughlin) at a concert in St Thomas's Church Hall on Friday at 8 pm, and on Saturday there's a workshop on voice for people who need more confidence in the morning, with a workshop in singing in Irish in the afternoon (both led by Mary).
I know this isn't South Pembs, but hey, it's the same county!

If you're living, or regularly going to be, in that part of the world it's worth getting your name added to Jules' and Paul's email list.

Paul Sharp's email is on the http://www.pembrokeshire-folk-music.co.uk/ site (the contact for Heb Enw morris on Tuesdays) and he'll be able to either put you in touch with the list or add you himself. And if you do, tell him Steve sent you :)

richd - it might not be the best idea to assume that the Tenby Folk Festival will happen next year.

As a general rule of thumb, it's always a good idea to check the background of promoters before taking any bookings or booking tickets. The Association of Festival Organizers is always a good first-port-of-call.

I think the Fishguard sessions are on a Tues night?

We are visiting the area in a fortnight. Any new sessions or clubs since this thread was last posted?
