But for some time I have been wanting to cross the Irish Sea and at last I have two gigs in Ireland in September: - Wed 23 Sep: The Clé Club, Dublin - Fri 25 Sep: The Cherrytree, Dublin (with Niamh Parsons) Needless to say, and near-based 'catters would be particularly welcome. But I am also looking for help. I will in fact cross on Sunday (with Vanessa, by car) and will have three nights free before the first gig, which I would like to spend seeing a little of the countryside (West Coast?) and if possible join some song sessions or folk clubs on the way. Can anyone point us towards likely places? Many thanks |

Papavgeris' Irish adventure Sep'09 From: jeddy if you like castles, i can wholey recomend blarney castle, it is amazing. if you are into ancient woods and caves then curraugh chase ( i have probably spelt it wrong). it is up by limerick. it has a cool campsite that has been cut out of the forest. where ever you end up just be careful about drinking tap water, it is ok for cooking but not drinking,the campsite water came out with a green tinge. i don't know how far south you want to go or what you will be driving or staying in but i can also recommend going todingle, it is a loverly little town, and the drive over to the other side of the penisular, is the road to heaven, if alittle windy, you will find the most wonderful little waterfall half way along where you can collect a small amount of raw pink crystal. please keep us updated as you will have a blast and love it!! we can't wait to go back! one more warning, if you live in england, beware that you cannot get your' balence from the banks' hole in the wall, and it takes about 2 or 3 days for anything to come out of your' account. ok i lied, don't know if you know this but we didn't. flashing red traffic lights mean proceed with caution/ you can go but it is not your' right of way. sorry if i have been patronising but these things really confused us, and the green water made me ill, and i want to protect you from the same thing happening to you. take care love jade x x x x x |
