Several minutes later out again. Keeps on happening day after day at different intervals. Tried putting in a disc, ejecting it myself and closing the tray myself. Still happens. Any ideas? |

13 Sep 09 - 08:26 PM (#2723042) Subject: RE: Tech: Disc Drive Randomly Ejects From: Barbara Shaw Oddly fixed. It has been going on for several days, getting more frequent. So I tried restoring the sytem to a few days before it started. Went through the whole process and at the end it said it was unable to restore to that date. Tried another date with the same result. Very odd that I couldn't restore... However, the attempt seems to have fixed to disc drive randomly opening up! It has been a full day and no recurrence. So now I want to know what the heck is this all about?? |

(now, I DO wonder if there is some default keystroke combination that will trigger this behavior...and could it be connected to what you say here?.....wild idea....) (I used to have a setting that would open the drive when the PC was shut down...I stopped that one.) |

13 Sep 09 - 09:00 PM (#2723068) Subject: RE: Tech: Disc Drive Randomly Ejects From: Gorgeous Gary I get this happening with the CD/DVD drive on my notebook computer. Which the computer itself does not currently recognize as existing. Been meaning to dig out the specs so I can at least try and reinstall the driver. -- Gary |
