Grey Jay, Canada Jay, Whiskey Jack, Camp Robber, Meat Bird, Moose Bird....

I have soooo many stories about my favourite bird. I wonder if anyone else has any stories about one of my bestest bird buddies.

Delicious, with the right sauce.

I have encountered them while traveling and camping in various parts of Canada, they are delightfully friendly little beggars but unfortunately I live outside of their range and don't get to see them here. I do have plenty of chickadees around though and they are quite friendly and entertaining, they will readily come to and sit on your hand if you have sunflower seeds on offer.

I have had Moosebirds fly into my camper and natter at me for food. Thay are quite saucy, Rap.

They really like Dad's Oatmeal Cookies. So do I... the only cookie I eat.

We got 'em around here too. Right now there's a large Gray Owl living on the golf course out back of the house. Once in a great while you'll see a great gray shadow, but more often you'll just hear a "ho-ho-hoo".
