10 Sep 09 - 08:18 AM (#2720552) Subject: BS: Swollen Eye From: SINSULL Can't let Tom, Spaw and Kendall get all the attention: I woke up this morning with my left eye completely swollen shut. I look like the last scene of the first Rocky movie. The entire eye from brow to about an inch below was puffed up. After cold compresses I have been at least able to open it. No pain. No itching. But I am sitting at work with a teabag on my eye wondering what to do. Any suggestions? SINS, who prefers the Jack Sparrow look to Rocky Balboa. |

I have a tooth on that side that the dentist has been keeping an eye on. My eye was glued shut with gunk from some allergy, though he couldn't tell me what the irritant was. I know it wasn't fleas because we didn't have them in WY. Glad yours is getting better. I keep saline eye drops handy to help wash out allergic reaction to weeds, etc. this time of year. No medicine, just pure water drops...can't remember the name of them just now. |

She went to the local eye hospital who took it VERY seriously, did a thorough examination and gave her a heavy dose of antibiotics on the spot (injected, I think). You might think they were worried about infection spreading to the eyeball and maybe causing blindness. They weren't. The real risk they had in mind was meningitis. Infections like that can spread up the optic nerve and into the brain within hours. |

Has the fabric under box spring bee ripped up by kitties? little spiders love to live inside box springs and seek warm blood at night. If you can, replace the box spring. If not take it out doors, rip all that messed up fabric off, spray inside with spider killer of your choice. Let the the thing air out for 24 plus hours and do it again. Get some hessian or muslin or a fitted sheet and a good upholstery stapler and recover the bottom of the box spring. while the bed is outdoors, bomb your room and check nooks and crevices especially behind and under furniture where the little buggers can ihide. Keep the kitties out of your bedroom. |

Spider bites are not nearly as unnerving as the flea invasion. I like spiders and often save the silly ones who get stuck in the bath tub. Yeah the little ones bite me but the big ones keep the mosquito population at bay. No eradication going on here. Did the Tam actually suggest I keep the cats out of my bedroom???? LOL Ed and Fred would have the door down within 24 hours. Alice would scream and moan herself into an epileptic fit and Miss Lizzy would simply lay down and die. |

He caught several skeeters and threw them at a spider web... right through. I tried it several times... same deal. He said the skeeters were like bats and could navigate through the webs. She looked so regal as she demurely gave them the eye in such a casual manner... like, "Go ahead. Make my day." Cheucie was an amazing cat. Listened to every word I said. And complied, even tho, at times, she would make this goshawful gutteral "fuck you, you prick" sound. 22 pounds of smart, fearless cat. I miss her. |
