I didn't get to Birtley much since the 70's but when I did there was always a warm welcome from John, he was such a great person to know. Bill |

We had some great sessions years ago at Holmfirth and Sutton Bonington and quite a few other places. As Dave says, another member of an important singing family gone to the grave. |

All the Elliott's were very supportive of everything Firm Friends did and it was a joy to have them at the singers weekend that I used to run. My thoughts are with Pam and the family. Hazel Bolton |

Don't get back to the club much now just on holidays if we are in Durham on a Wednesday. I always think of John when I sing the £20 dog. Our thoughts are with all of the remaining family. Nice man always treasured in my memory. He along with the rest of the family gave us such a wonderful welcome when we paid a visit from Ireland some time ago.
