The Hennessys are performing Waiting at the Oak which Frank Hennessy and John Prior wrote in 1989 for the 150th anniversary of the Chartist uprising and this will only be the second time since its premiere that it has been performed, and the first time in Newport. The account tells the tale of the South Wales Chartists who met at the Welsh Oak pub in Risca before the final March on Neport in 1839. Daneka |
