30 Sep 09 - 10:32 AM (#2734977) Subject: BS: FannieMae/FreddieMac From: SINSULL I just found out that Freddiemac owns my mortgage and I can apply for mortgage relief. I pay a huge amount of my monthly income on my mortgage. A few months ago I got rid of cable, house phone (use MagicJack), replaced cell phone with pay by the minute. I sell on Ebay to make ends meet...almost This could mean the difference between keeping my house or selling. Has anyone here applied for this? What can I expect? were you successful? Thanks in advance for any advice. SINS |

30 Sep 09 - 03:58 PM (#2735261) Subject: RE: BS: FannieMae/FreddieMac From: VirginiaTam mmm... I googled and found some news articles, but they all implied the relief was only for people whose houses had gone down in value. Nothing about the payments being too much to cope with, due to reduction of income. Annoying thing about Freddie and Sallie is that they spend so much on lobbying politicians (read supporting republicans). Can they afford to reduce / refinance? Hope you find a workable answer soon Mary. |

30 Sep 09 - 04:28 PM (#2735276) Subject: RE: BS: FannieMae/FreddieMac From: SINSULL FM owns my mortgage and my payment is more than 31% of my gross salary so I qualify. I went to FM who told me to go to the bank who handles my payment. I will collect all the required documents and do just that. Nothing to worry about, gnu. Just tight money. Besides, if I become homeless I will jsut movein with Kendall and Jacqui. They won't mind...keeping me in the cellar. |

Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America It should be noted that this process for us has been ongoing since May or June, and it's still not yet resolved. But if we are able to get it resolved, based on their formulas, our mortgage payments and interest rate will go down. |

15 Oct 09 - 01:14 PM (#2746708) Subject: RE: BS: FannieMae/FreddieMac From: SINSULL As expected GMAC has done their best to discourage me from refinancing. I am not behind on my payments and have excellent credit so they are in no hurry to lower my rates or improve my terms. First phone call: Machine talk to enter info by pushing buttons to agent to agent who handles FreddieMac...who hangs up after saying "Hello? Hello?" Call Two: Machine talk to enter info to agent who takes info again to FreddieMac agent (same voice) where i say Hello before he can say anything. Unfortunately, he does not have a Maine license so he will have his manager call me. I gave two numbers. Three days later no call back. Call Three: Machine talk to enter info to Savine who again takes info who forwards me to a non-working extension which takes me back to an operator who sends me to TAHDAH Savine. Before she can say a word I carefully and firmly say "You just transferred me to a non-working extension. Big Sigh. What is you account number - for the fourth time this call I gave her the number and was put on hold for 2.5 minutes. "Hello?" with an implied "Christ are you still there?" She once again took my info and asked two questions about my finances. Back on hold - NINE MINUTES! with frequent sounds of clicking to simulate disconnect. Finally she comes back with "You may qualify". Given that I had stated that at the beginning of the call... The result? She referred me back to the website that told me to call my mortgage holder to download ten pages of forms to be sent in by FAX, mail or wemail. i am promised a confirmation call in one week and a refinance answer in 60 days. I am tempted to include Susan Collins on my day to day experience. The first rule? DO NOT HANG UP! LOL. SIGH I will keep you posted. |

If there is a local office, I would suggest that you go to it and explain your situation. Senators should be good for something, and Senator Collins appears to be an empathetic person. Good luck.
