There was really an old Yiddish gent in London who spoke no English, but went by the name of Sean Ferguson. When he came to immigration control, he had been given an anglicised name, as was common with Jewish emigrants from eastern Europe. In the hurly burly he forgot the name, and when the offiv=cial asked for his name he exclaimed 'Shoin fergissen', ( I have forgotten   in Yiddish). His entry papers were filled in by the credulous official a Sean Ferguson.

It's a bit short notice for this year - what are the dates for next year?

last year it was about the same date so I suppose it will be next year if Janusz is still in Cork. He is a student and I don't know whether anyone will take up the banner of festival organisation in the years to come. There was a dulcimer festival in Cork for 3 years and it didn't continue once the organiser returned to the US

If you want to be on the emailing list for any further Cork klezmer events, get in touch with Janusz via the website
