Anyone want our little old caravan?(Mk2)

Hi all,

I am hoping to pass on a caravan to another folkie, as it was passed on to us last year by Catter friend Richard Bridge in this thread.

Stewart and I have enjoyed taking the caravan to festivals but have now been offered an upgrade, so wish to pass this one on to a good home.

1984 LEDA, offered free (subject to below) to a mudcatter, as before.

Everything works, including 3-way fridge that Richard put in new the season before at a cost of about £300, which has the self-lighting system (so you never get back to the van to find it blew out and your milk/white wine is warm). Because of this new super-duper fridge we are asking £200 for the fridge and throwing the caravan in for nothing :0)

Below I include relevant details as provided by Richard on the earlier thread.

She is a two single/one double layout, with overhead shelves for guitars etc in place of the original high-up cupboards at the sleeping end. Shelves will take 4 guitars, 2 mandolins, bodhran, song books, small 5-watt battery guitar/mandolin amp and box of CDs! Ideal festival van, in consequence.

Chest of drawers at front.

Cupboard over fridge and work surface. Storage below that I use for beer and wine.

Two-ring hob, grill and oven, round sink, drainer with flap-over work surface, cupboards over, and cupboard under sink. Replumbed with new taps. Drawer and cupboard under drainer.

Carver cascade water heater (mark one) and onboard electric-pumped H&C water. Shower compartment (shower works well) with sink and portapotti.

Wardrobe with storage over.

TP2 Trailerpack/battery charger, usual zig unit. Twin electrics all work. 240V sockets for when you are plugged in.

More storage under beds.

Usual front locker for gas etc.

Fiamma gas fire works well (easy to light).

All windows waterproof (plastic modern double-glazed type) and big overhead window at front that makes the front almost into a conservatory on a nice day!

Noticeably dented roof, but it is watertight. Floor creaks a little but supports people of up to 20 stone.

Curtains and cushions not too tatty. Carpet not too tatty.

Clean and grey water containers hoses, etc.

No awning (but rail present if you want to use one).

Really light (under 700 kg unladen) and can be towed by small car.

Most manuals and so on still present.

Obviously you will need a towball to tow her away. I can deliver within reason but the cost per mile will be a bit of a pain as obviously I will have to charge for there and back.

If you want to inspect, you are welcome. Please reply here or by PM.

Blast. I keep missing that caravan. Last time because our car was too small. Now we have suitable car but no tow bar and no place to store it. Though both could be sorted quite quickly.

We could really use it too, especially this Christmas to house guests.

I remember Stewart saying at Sidmouth that he had done a quantity of tidying up and painting. Terry, PM me with an email address and I'll send some pictures as she was before Stewart's work.

She is a LEDA 112 - which I suspect means 11 foot two inches without counting the drawbar or gas locker.

I will add that once you have the knack of priming the onboard water pump, the shower is frankly a lot better than the one I have on my present much newer van even after I fitted a new very high flow-rate pump in the new one.

Just had email back from TheSilentOne. If Terry as first bidder doesn't want it, we do.

I would love it but NZ is a bit far to tow it!

It'd probably float upside down. Have you got an outboard motor?

Why do offers like this turn up at the wrong time for me?

I am planning to convert from tent to caravan at about this time next year and would have jumped at Noreen and Stewart's offer.

It'll all have to wait untill I change my (motability) car next Oct and get a tow bar and electrics fitted to it

Dave

The suspense is killing me. Did Terry win? Did someone PM between Terry and me.

Arrrghhh!

Hi Noreen. I PM'd you at 10.23pm on 08 Oct 09 but have had no reply yet. Has Leadfingers taken you up on your offer?
In anticipation.
