"It's a miracle he wasn't badly hurt," the spokesman said on Monday. "This sort of thing can end up killing you." Instead, dangling by his trousers, the man got pulled along for about 200 metres, all the while managing to keep his legs away from the wheels of the train. The ordeal ended when a passenger pulled the emergency brake. Rescues services were called in, causing rail services between Bremen and Hamburg to be suspended for over an hour, delaying 23 trains. The man -- unharmed except for cuts and bruises -- now faces charges of dangerous interference in rail transport, insulting the train staff, and may face sizeable a compensation claim for the delays he caused, police said. I hadn't got the time you see, oh life can be such a pain. To catch the ruddy train I almost broke my flaming neck. But for riding without a ticket, they put me off at Lauenbrueck. I'd heard about this 'mooning' thing, it's where you flash your bum. I guess the guy who told it me was not much of a chum. I pulled my trousers halfway down, my shirt right up my back. But suddenly I found myself being dragged along the track. The train departed suddenly, my trousers were attached. I tried to run in time with it but our speeds just were not matched. There dangling by my trousers, thinking I was going to die. And in my head I saw the whole (or hole) of my life 'flashing by. Full 200 yards I was dragged along but no noise did I make. So pleased was I when some kind guy applied the emergency brake. Just cuts and bruises have I now, to show for my silly trick. And I'm being prosecuted so I'm feeling a little sick. |
