22 Oct 09 - 08:23 AM (#2750135) Subject: RE: I play a ***** and I'm embarrassed From: GUEST,Bardan I think in german cuntz would maybe be playing with the word kunst which just means art but that's a wild guess. I give this thread three posts before someone makes a strumming/fingering/g-string comment. |

22 Oct 09 - 11:06 AM (#2750246) Subject: RE: I play a ***** and I'm embarrassed From: SharonA Sidestepping the vulgar puns (for the moment, anyway), I've always thought that "Takamine" was an unfortunate choice for a guitar name. It's pronounced "tock-a-MEE-nee" but it looks like a stereotypical Italian person is saying, "Take-a mine". |
22 Oct 09 - 11:17 AM (#2750255) Subject: RE: I play a ***** and I'm embarrassed From: Little Hawk Well, it sounds quite good in Japanese. "Takamine", I mean. There are no silent vowels in Japanese (when it is rendered into English letters). |

22 Oct 09 - 11:36 AM (#2750270) Subject: RE: I play a ***** and I'm embarrassed From: theleveller Seriously, I've never played one but they do look and sound like REALLY nice guitars. Doubt if I'll ever be able to afford one though - they're around the £5-6000 mark!!!!!! Just requested them as a friend on Myspace and Andreas sent me a very nice message - I feel a bit of a **** for mocking his name now. |

22 Oct 09 - 11:46 AM (#2750284) Subject: RE: I play a ***** and I'm embarrassed From: Charley Noble Yes, it's embarrassing all around. My father was given an embarrassing name, "Adolph", back in 1905. During World War 2 he certainly endured some petty harassment but he endured. But maybe that's why he and mother give us such boring names as "Charlie" and "Bobbie." Cheerily, Charley Noble |
