Now I'm obsessed with finding lyrics to all/most/many of his songs. I'd be grateful if someone could point me to a source for his lyrics...I'm going crazy trying to figure out several unintelligible phrases in some of his songs--most particularly, his song "Candy Man." I play a few of his songs, and I got to meet and talk with him back then. Stefan Grossman publishes a lot of John Hurt songs, in a book, complete with music and TAB. From: The Resonator "The Country Blues Guitar" by Stefan Grossman has the music and lyrics to several John Hurt songs, including "Candyman" and "Stack O' Lee." There's also plenty of other great songs in that book. Check it out. The book is published by Oak Publications and contains the tablature, as well as standard notation. Peace.
