26 Oct 09 - 10:11 PM (#2753366) Subject: Aged and Mellow Blues From: Janie I'm looking for information about when Johnny Otis & Preston Love wrote this song and/or when it was recorded with Little Esther singing the lyrics with (I think) the Otis Band. I'm pretty sure it was late '40's or early 50's, but can't seem to turn up anything specific. I found it on compilation albums, but am having trouble finding the original album. Thanks. Aged and Mellow Blues by Johnny Otis & Preston Love I've got a strange philosophy Nothing here appeals to me I like my men like I like my whiskey Mmm, aged and mellow Some girls just can't seem to see Why these little young cats ain't moving me But I like my men like I like my whiskey Mmm, aged and mellow There's nothing a greenhorm can do for me Case my older daddy suits me to a T Now I like my men like I like my whiskey Ooh, aged and mellow Now listen youngster, be on your way Don't bother me 'til a later day I like my men like I like my whiskey Mmm, aged and mellow Junior may be young and strong, girl But I'll take grandpa cause he's had it longer I like my men like I like my whiskey Hah, aged and mellow |

Produced by Johnny Otis. I was not able to find any indication that it was released on an LP at that time, though obviously, it released many times in subsequent years. |
