Hi folks My Boston Mandolin fell into the hands of my young nephew who messed about with the bridge wheels, for raising and lower the bridge.
Now Iam trying to make good but need help.

Firstly where on the thread of the turning screws should the bridge be placed to get clear sound no buzzing and good pitch. Half way three quarters .
and my 2nd question is

once placed at the correct height does the bridge need to be made level using a sprit level.
I payed fifty quid for a wonderful set up by a chap I hold great respect for but another £50.00 is out the question I must try to rectify this problem myself with help.

Another excellent resource is Frank Ford’s frets.com. He has a whole section he calls The Mandolin Owner's Manual. He provides detailed text and great color photography to explain each operation.
