16 Nov 09 - 04:52 PM (#2767312) Subject: Lyr Add: THE SAILOR SONG From: Charley Noble Here's an odd "nautical" song that I just harvested off the web; it may be from Vietnam or at least it's from a Vietnamese music website: The Sailor Song Racing all around the seven seas Chasing all the girls and making robberies 'Causing panic everywhere they go Party-hardy on Titanic Sailing, sailing, jumping off the railing Drinking, drinking 'till the ship is sinking Gambling, stealing, lots of sex-appealing Come, let us sing the sailor-song! So if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together, just to sing we love you And if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together just for you! Sailorman, you really turn me on Now the guys are gone, come and let us get it on Girls like me are pretty hard to find So if you go, I'll kick your Heine! Sailing, sailing, jumping off the railing Drinking, drinking 'till the ship is sinking Gambling, stealing, lots of sex-appealing Come, let us sing the sailor-song! So if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together, just to sing we love you And if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together just for you! Now, let's fight! Ha, that's not a knife, this is a knife! eik!!! Sailing, sailing, jumping off the railing Drinking, drinking 'till the ship is sinking Gambling, stealing, lots of sex-appealing Come, let us sing the sailor-song! So if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together, just to sing we love you And if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together just for you, Oh yeah! I'm king of the world! woohoo! Wow, this was great! Yeah, baby, you can sail my ship! So if we all come together, we know what to do We all come together just for you... Yeah! We should try this at the next Mystic Sea Music Festival... Cheerily, Charley Noble |

Toy Box is a Danish duo: Anila Mirza and Amir Adam El-Falaki. Though they both grew up in Denmark, some of their songs are in Urdu. The "Sailor Song" is from their first album, "FanTastic." Here's the official music video on YouTube, it is about as silly as you might expect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDErgD9YNyc (pops) Here's their website if anyone is interested in more of the same: http://www.toy-box.dk.tp (pops) |

Years from now, I'm sure, Mudcatters would otherwise be debating the origins of this traditional nautical song. Wheee! Sailing, sailing, jumping off the railing, Charley Noble |
