BS: Sarah Palin on Oprah 30-sec. video recap

25 Nov 09 - 11:51 AM (#2773459)
Subject: BS: Sarah Palin on Oprah 30-sec. montage
From: Genie

In case you missed Sarah Palin on the Oprah Winfrey show on Nov. 16, here is a 30-sec. audio recap of what she told Oprah. *g*

(It's actually an audio recording that I put in video form so I could put it on YouTube where people can hear it easily as long as they have the link.)

KPOJ 30-sec recap of Sarah Palin on Oprah

Not sure who put this together. I got it from Thom Hartmann and from Carl Wolfson and Christine Alexander, of the KPOJ 620 AM, Portland, OR Morning Show.

I think it sums up Ms. Sarah pretty nicely, don't you? ; D

Genie

Note to Mudelves: I initially posted the link in the longer thread about Sarah Palin on Oprah, but that thread has wandered far from that specific topic and it looked like this link would soon be buried amid the ongoing food figh ... er "arguments."
This audio montage is too funny not to share!

crude and nothing to offer there. I'm sick of the slice and dice up the tape and try to look clever. the kind of thing rush would do, and do better.

Much as I like and admire Genie and Jacqui, I agree with you, robo. The truth is bad enough without resorting to this kind of thing. One could call it satire but it is dishonest.

Wouldn't you have been better posting this on Facebook or Bebo Genie. I dont subscribe to either, but am reliably informed that millions of adolescents gather there, I'm sure a handful will find this hilarious.

Ebbie, I don't see it as dishonest, the way it was presented. Nobody even came close to suggesting it was anything but a spoof.
I've seen and heard similar cut-and-paste spoofs done on people whose politics I generally agree with and/or whom I admire, and some of those have been pretty funny too.

Now if this one were not so OTT and obviously doctored for humorous effect, I'd denounce it as dishonest and misleading too.   It's kind of like a photoshopped image where the head is way too big for the body or vice-versa: nobody would take it for the real thing.

akenaton, you don't think mudcatters are ever known to engage in adolescent humor??

Oh, and, Robo.
I agree that Rush does "stuff" like this, but I don't agree that he does it better.
Plus, Rush and his ilk sometimes try to pass off these pastiches as though they were real, as opposed to obvious jokes.

A montage like this isn't much different from the SNL skits in which Darrell Hammond impersonates Bill Clinton or Dick Cheney and says outrageous things. In neither case would any sane person think it was reality.

I can't understand half of what she says anyway, Genie - the words just blur into each other, and my mind stops processing them.

I think this would be the list/quiz Bobert mentioned there. Sarah Palin or Bob Dylan lyrics? (Google will find you anything...)

Heh! That was fun, Bobert. I scored a perfect 20 on it, and dat's de troof. ;-) I like Bob's lyrics much better than Sarah's. Hers are mostly along the "spunky gal" line, reflecting her spunky gal personality. Dylan's are more cryptic, but they all work very well within the greater body of lyrics of whichever song they came from.

Thank God Dylan doesn't say "I'm like..." all the time! He says, "I said" or "She said".

Some real life deathless prose:

"As the soles of my shoes hit the soft ground, I pushed past the tall cottonwood trees in a euphoric cadence, and meandered through willow branches that the moose munched on."

SLATE has a contest on. Check this out:

Can You Write Like Sarah?

Well, Eb... Me thinks in order to write like Ms. Sarah one has to think like her so...

...I'm takin' a pass on the contest...

Maybe LH, with his multi-personalities, will give it a try...

Word on the street is that the winner will get to spend a day with Ms. Sarah in her fishing gear pullin' nets... Can't get much better than that, can it???

"...The clearest winner in the poll is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin who is identified not only as the leader of the Republican party but also receives the highest percentage when GOPers are asked for whom they would most likely vote in the 2012 presidential primary and caucus process.

As we've written before and this poll reveals, Palin has a huge political opportunity given her standing among the base of the party. And yet, she seems to be entirely uninterested in broadening that base -- via policy and political stands -- to soften the opinions of critically important independents voters about her."

Sorry, LH... Can't divulge that info...

As for Ms. Sarah, according to today's Wash. Post, she's seen as the #1 person who best articulates the values of folks who call themselves Republicans...

Geeze... Just think what we would have to look forward to if she becomes president??? I mean, George W. was a "C student" and I doubt that Ms. Sarah did much better... Look where that got US???

But now if she wants this boney hillbilly to be her VP and carry around all the newspapers that she regularially reads then she has the right guy fir the job... Sho nuff does... I'll carry anything she wants me to carry... I'll bait her fish hook, too...

"your integrity is more important than your immediate masculine response"

His response to that was, ".....HUH???????" Matter of fact, he had to pick his jaw up off the floor before he could even manage that minimal verbal response. ;-)

Playin the plunger?

I heard a guy say that people either love or hate Sarah Palin or Barack Obama and that there is no in between.

Of all the people I know who find Palin distasteful or pathetic I know of no one who hates her, except for her inlaws, but for those who hate Obama it is a deep visceral true hatred, usually for all the mowt bigoted or insecure reasons. I have no sympathy for self agrandizing vain and egotistical people of little education who are opportunistic to the extreme but at least I don't hate her.

If I could be absolutely sure that she would never have any kind of political power, no problem with her. I know she likes going round killing wild animals, but that goes for a lot of otherwise decent people, I suppose.

There are plenty of people whose politics I hate whom I quite like. (And it works the other way as well.)
