When I was on holiday there in 2008 I met occasional Mudcatter Steve Parkes and his friends at the Dairyman's Daughter where they had a weekly singaround and he mentioned some other venues as well. I'm sure if he sees this he'll update you.

Up and running any moment now is THE website for Isle of Wight Folk.

FolknStuff

Note this is the U.K.variety, but visitors from over the pond always welcome.

The Castle Inn in Newport is the venue for Downland Traditional Folk Club.
We meet on the second Friday of every month 8-15. See you there just let me know you want to sing as you come in.

Other nights to note are the monthly sessions at the Stag and the weekly (Tuesday) sessions at the Dairyman's Daughter.

I read with interest the info on folk clubs on the isle of wight. Has anyone an update on this please. We are going there first week in September.
