She beat the hell out of him. He was her man, but he was puttin' around. Some say he was just crazy, Others say he was nuts. He got confused in his playing Mixed up his puts with his putz He was her man, but he scored too many holes. Bring out your rubber tired golf carts Bring out your irons and woods. Hang on to your balls and your putters If you want to deliver the goods He was her man but his iron was too long. |

I laughed. "When papparazi threw their spears..." I believe you can hear it free from somewhere around cbc.ca/podcasts. The refrain includes: What immoral hand on thigh Could frame thy lack of alibi? |

05 Oct 14 - 09:40 PM (#3666478) Subject: RE: Tiger Tiger Burning Bright From: GUEST,Janet Many, many years ago in the 1960's there was an episode of American TV program called, "Dr. Kildare" staring Richard Chamberlin as the doctor in this weekly series. I was just a kid but watched the show with my parents. (thought Dr. Kildare was soooo cute)and asked my parents to take me to a doctor when I grew up that looked like Dr. Kildare. (ha, ha, didn't happen.) Well one episode (I don't know or recall why it was recited) but this wonderful poem, "Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright" was read on this program one night. I still remember hearing this poem as a little girl from that TV program. Could be my father loved poetry and although he had never read that poem to me, he read many poems to me and so my love for poetry began early on. |

They blare it out recited very dramatically accompanied by Star Wars type music at the beginning of Hull City home matches where it couldn't be more incongruous. It makes me cringe everytime I hear it. |

Not sure how it fit into that episode but it was a very good TV weekly program. Richard Chamberlain was the star actor in this program. Maybe I'll have to look it up on Youtube to see if I can even find this episode (1960's TV). Not sure it was ever aired on TV outside of USA though. I was just a kid when it was on TV. |
12 Jan 22 - 09:59 AM (#4132090) Subject: RE: Tiger Tiger Burning Bright (William Blake) From: voyager Not the Tiger - A New Age Parable and another Tiger, Tiger golfing poem Tiger, tiger ball in flight Down the fairway, out of sight. Arcing high above the trees, Hit with grace from yonder tee. To reach the green on such a drive Would be the dream of man alive. If only true or yet begun The ball should land a hole in one! What the glory, what the sound, The crowd will roar and cheers abound, When through the air, thy ball shall fly To break a window way up high? Crash and shatter, smash the glass, 200 yards down fairway grass. Applause recedes and stares go round; You've reached your peak, a golfing clown! next year, he vowed to improve... voyager |
