Clip Art Request.

I'm doing a CD for someone. I'm looking for a bit of art. What I'd like would be a line drawing of an old time sailing ship. Preferably early to mid 1800. A woodcut type drawing would be best. I need one about 4", so I can put it on a CD cover. Then scale it down for cassett.

When we get it done, I'll announce who is doing it, and where you can get a copy. Hint, the lead is a Mudcatter.

Clip Art? would that be a circumcision or a vasectomy you were thinking of?

Check your local library for books featuring pictures of scrimshaw items. A museum may also be of help.

Go to http://www.thefreesite.com/ and select graphics. You might find some stuff there.

The graphics page at http://www.freestuffcenter.com/ looks promising too.

You'll find a huge number of illustration in Stan Hugill's 'Songs Of The Sea', and I suspect his other books. Regards, John

Another suggestion is going to the Lester Levy site (http://levysheetmusic.mse.jhu.edu/) and checking out their covers ( go to browse the collection and choose cover art only). I got a great many of the graphics for my page here. I cropped the parts I wanted and make them black and white in Paint Shop Pro (a cheap but great shareware program).

You can see one I took here. As I recall there were some other fantastic sailings ships.

The advantage of these is they are public domain.
