Start 2010 off with a bang (or the clash of carbon fibre staves)

Motley Morris will be dancing at the Malt Shovel, Darenth Road, Dartford from 12.30 on New Years Day with guests sides. There will be a session in the bar afterwards.

Does Romany Man know?

Oh, wait a minute - are you the side with the BNP-supporting Mark Stevens in?

sorry, this is a bit late. We most certainly are nothing to do with the BNP and never heard of Mark Stevens.
Gong Scourers had been invited but didn't turn up.
btw we had a fantastic time with dancing, food and tunes. It looks like being a regular New Year's Day venue from now on.

One was a little taken aback by the reportage of an anti-Taliban drinking song.

Hmmmm.... I'd have thought that the overwhelming majority of people the world over would be anti-Taliban!

I'm in favour of both anti-BNP songs and anti-Taliban songs!

Or are you a Taliban sympathiser?!

Gongs were unable to attend due to lack of their only Musician (he was on holiday, abroad, with his spouse) - several other members were unable to attend due to family commitments. The invite was certainly welcome though.

As for the singing/playing session - I have had all the gory details explained to me by one extrememly competent musician/singer who was there. He certainly took offence at (in his own words) "a blatantly racist song".

Glad it looks like becoming a fixed event! See you all at some point, somewhere, soon.
