28 Dec 09 - 08:47 AM (#2797719) Subject: Hangover Song From: agingcynic Greetings In honor of New Year's Eve, "The Universe is Gnawing on My Head" is available for free download. It's a blues number featuring the legendary JoeBass, now of the WIYOS. Joe created sound effects that precisely replicate the mental state that follows downing one quart of gin, followed by rye, within a nine-hour timeframe. You can find it here: http://daveshiflett.com Be assured this song is not an exercise in advocacy, but instead a cautionary tale. Season's best, Dave Shiflett |

26 Mar 18 - 02:37 PM (#3913318) Subject: RE: Hangover Song From: GUEST,John Alton Maxwell Whitley Wow what a great find there man, I'm going to sing this at my daughter's third bat mitzvah, You know last week me and the son went hunting over in the woods outside Springfield, Virgina, when my boy Tom and me drank a whole twelve pack of coor's light. Boy did Tom have a bad time the next morning and I'd have loved to know this song then to yodel to him. My daughter will appreciate this as she's a recovering alcoholic after her husband left her and got custody of her five kids, Anyway thanks again for the find, will be put to good use. |
26 Mar 18 - 03:36 PM (#3913334) Subject: RE: Hangover Song From: GUEST,Mick Pearce (MCP) Graham Here's the Leon Rosselson song. The album is available on amazon (streaming, mp3 or - if you have £43 to spare! - vinyl). Mick HANGOVER (Leon Rosselson) Things are going very badly, drunks are drivelling down the drain. Rats are nibbling at the rafters, I can almost feel the pain. I've got corkscrews in my eardrums and eardrums in my brain. Things are getting rather dodgy, think I'll start the day again. Can't remember where my foot is, can't think what I want it for; And the ceiling's started spinning, in the middle of the floor. If I knew which way my eyes were I could maybe find the door. There's the Black Hole of Calcutta and it wasn't there before. "Keep the home fires brightly burning", "O me darling Clementine". There's a footstep on the landing and it isn't one of mine. "Lay me down and roll me over". What the hell's the other line? Things are getting rather tricky, and they're trickling down my spine. I can hear the sound of knocking. I'm afraid I may be dead. And my arms are out of order and my legs are leathery lead. Rats are gnawing at my corkscrews, I've got eardrums in my head. Things are going very badly, think I'm going back to bed.
