The duo of Janie Meneely & Paul DiBlasi, known as CALICO JACK will bring their singing and musical talents to The Borderline Folk Music Club in Rockland County, NY on Sunday, February 7th at 2 PM.

The concert will feature songs, both original and traditional of the Chesapeake Bay area and will describe the history and culture of that famous body of water; traditions that carry over to this very day.

It will take place at the New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps building located at 200 - Congers Road, New City, NY 10956. Admission is $20 per person ($15 for Borderline or Pinewoods members), and we ask that you bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to share with 4 other people.

Reservations are required and can be made by e-mail at solz1@optonline.net or by calling Sol Zeller at (845)-354-4586.

Reservations are starting to come in strong since the Jets were eliminated from contention.

Please make your reservations now to see 2 great performers who usually do not visit the New York area but are very popular and much in demand in the DC area where they are from.

Should those unfortunate enough not to know any or much about Calico Jack or realize where such songs as "Twiddles", "You Don't Know Jack" and "Brigantine" came from, you might want to check here

There are lyrics at that Website, http://www.janiemeneely.com/lyrics.html. I'm listening to "Katie Allen" now, and I really like it.

Janie is a fantastic songwriter and she makes them sound like they are traditional. It takes a very special talent to do that.

Don't let a little snow scare you away.
SUNDAY WILL BE A CLEAR DAY.
The snowstorm that is coming up the coast will take place Friday night into Saturday. The Rockland County and Clarkstown Highway departments will have everything cleared up by Sunday morning.
And remember, The New City Volunteer Ambulance Corps where the concert is taking place is the first building in town to get plowed.
There will be a clean parking lot with plenty of FREE spaces for your car.

The concert begins at 2 PM. Please be prompt so that we can be finished in plenty of time to drive home for the Superbowl kickoff at 6:25 PM.

The concert will be professionally recorded in Pro-Tools and videoed
for possible commercial release. The audience will be in the video as well. Come and be part of it all.

I am happy to report that Janie & Paul have gotten out of the DC area before the storm hit. They are up north now and in our area.

Sunday's concert will proceed on schedule. Our venue is north of NYC and we may only get 3 inches if even that much.

We still have plenty of good seats available so make your reservations now.

Any reservations received between 4:30PM today and 6:30 PM tomorrow night (my Sabbath), will be confirmed tomorrow evening. Our venue has a large seating capacity so don't worry about being shut out. We have plenty of room for anyone who wants to attend.

Good to know they beat the snow. You'll be in for a special treat while down in DC the FSGW Winter Minifest, an open sing and everything has been cancelled by the blizzard.

I envy you lucky folks.

They'll have a big surprise when they get home and try to find a place to park. The washing didn't get 'em but the rinsin' might!

Glad to hear it went well! Hope the crowd was large.

Thanks one and all for a splendid "mini tour" up the East Coast. Paul and I were gratified by the turn-out and response to our music from the Bay. Hope to make it up north again when warm weather hits (will it ever?).

Cheers,
Janie Meeely

Glad I got to hear you and Paul at Getaway this year, Janie.

I'm processing the video of Calico Jack doing "Brigantine," and I'm guessing you wrote that song, like so many others. But what is the original copyright date?

I can't PM you (unless you're "Celtic Soul"), so please let me know if you want the Getaway concert video of your song kept private, made public, deleted, or what.
