Camsco logo

Sorry if I missed a reply to this enquiry on another thread, but I'm also puzzled by the grey disk in the Camsco logo: coin, medal or what?

I'm puzzled by why it always obscures the first part of the right side of the first message of the thread unless I resize the browser window to be small. Isn't there another place you can put it, Max, where it won't go over top of the text?

Alice,

I use two different computers (IBM clones)and have no trouble with the logo. If I recall, you use a MAC so you might want Max to know that information.

My guess is that the disc is a record (or CD).

Strange, the logo doesn't obscure anything on my computer. It must have something to do with the screen area/display.

This interesting (Mac) symptom goes away once the list of messages is long enough to stretch the page down. It occurs only when there is a small page, as with just one or two messages on the thread.

Alice is right, it is mildly annoying for us MACusers.

I suspect that the disc is the soundhole of the stringed instrument depicted. It forms the "O" in Camsco, and has musical notes coming from it. Right, Wally?

Alice and Roger(a good name),

Perhaps you might drop a line to the Help and Trouble Forum where Max or Bert is more likely to see it.

OK... my guess...

A speaker? It's got the raised section in the center, and music coming out of it.

Do we get a prize if we guess right?

I could see it better with Sandy's description... imagine looking at the center of a guitar, with the neck pointing to the left.

or, I guess the neck pointing to the right, where the notes are trailing off.

If you visit the Camsco site by clicking on the logo you see a black and white version and it's pretty clear that it's a cross between a musical staff (5 lines)and a guitar sound hole with the notes coming out of it.

It'll be fixed by tuesday. The disk or object you see in there is really nothing. Just residue of an effect I used on the image to smooth it out.

Yeah. I've meant to ask Wally why his guitar has only five strings. Maybe its mama mated with a banjo, or the banjo has a hole in its head. I dunno, but I do like the logo.

I always assumed it had some covert sexual meaning.

When last seen Wally's guitar did have all six strings, but maybe it's been having traumatic interractions with Tiples.

I still like to think it's the Spectre of Something Mysterious lurking in the dark in that hole. Max's logical explanation took the mystique out of it, so I think I'll ignore logic and stick to imagination. I wonder if the mystery made any more sales for Wally. He's sure got a good selection of stuff. I guess I'd better get over there myself, but I've been sending my whole paycheck to Sandy Paton for the good stuff he has at Folk-Legacy.
